Product Versions
This new product will be constantly developed with
regular releases. We are very interested in our users
experiences with our software and always ready to listen
to new ideas. |
Version 1.5 Released June 11th 2007

|
When an archive storage directory goes offline, e.g.
network/external drive is disconnected, the files waiting
to be archived are flagged up with an offline archive
icon. The offline location is then checked once per
minute and when it comes back online, file archiving
for those files resumes. |
 |
Fixed a problem where sometimes temp folders were
left in the Windows temp directory. |

|
The help file has now been changed to HTML help to
be compatible with Windows Vista. |

|
Some small cosmetic changes to make it display properly
in Windows Vista. |
 |
An option has been added so that you can choose to
have the modified date of an archive file set to exactly
the same as the last file that was added to the archive. |
Version 1.4 Released Aug 24th 2006

|
The software settings are now saved to disk in the
standard Windows user application data area instead
of the registry. This makes the settings easier to backup
and transfer between machines. |
 |
There is now a separate corporate version of AJC
Active Backup that makes it easier to manage for larger
organizations. |
Version 1.3 Released July 25th 2006

|
Setting up file patterns is now much easier with
the suggestion tool. This searches for all file extensions
in the directories you are monitoring and lets you select
them. |
 |
When errors occur on the process tab you can now
right click on a file to remove it from the list or
retry the operation. |

|
When exiting the application any files left on the
process list are now saved so that they will appear
on the list when you next start up. |

|
In the file patterns for deciding which files to
archive you can now specify a directory without a leading
path e.g. Abc\ This allows you to match all files in
an "Abc" directory located anywhere under
the directory you are monitoring. |
 |
New command line options have been added for archiving
existing files. |
 |
When purging archives if an archive file was deleted
this would sometimes cause the program to fail. |
 |
The archive integrity checker had a bug where it
was creating files in the local temp folder and not
removing them. |
Version 1.2 Released Aug 18th 2005

|
A new View archives tab has been added to the main
window. This allows you to list all archives or archives
where revisions were added in a certain date range.
From this list you can examine each archive or restore
a group of files. |
 |
You can now restore a group of files using the Restore/Extract
files wizard from the View archives tab. This allows
you to restore files to their original locations or
select an alternative location to extract files to.
You can also choose to restore the latest files or files
as they would have been on a certain date. |

|
A archive integrity checker tool has been added so
that you can be sure that your archives will restore
and they are not corrupted in any way. |

|
A new report tab has been added to show the progress
of restore operations and integrity checks. |
Version 1.1 Released Feb 19th 2005

|
Some files can now be archived even when they are
open. For example this is very useful for MS Word and
Excel files because these programs keep the files open
until the documents are closed. This now means that
if you press save in Word your document it will be instantly
archived. You can specify which files can be backed
up when they are open in the options. |
 |
It now copes with very long file names. |
